The Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE has been allocated $2.8 million in Federal Government funding as part of the Rudd Government's Teaching and Learning Capital Fund.

- Replacement of air conditioning A Block: $150,000.00
- Environmental Sustainability projects: $60,000.00
Bowen
- Environmental Sustainability projects: $60,000.00
Cannonvale
- Refurbishment of Palmers Restaurant / Kitchen: $300,000.00
- Upgrade of hospitality equipment: $75,000.00
- Environmental Sustainability projects: $60,000.00
Townsville City
- Environmental Sustainability projects: $60,000.00
Pimlico
- Upgrade hospitality equipment: $75,000.00
- Construction of bricklaying shed: $210,000.00
- Refurbishment demo kitchen D Block: $80,000.00
- Repair / replace roof D Block: $150,000.00
- Trade Training new equipment: $1,500,000.00
- Environmental Sustainability projects: $60,000.00
