How to apply
If you would like assistance with your application, please contact the International Business Development Officer at the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE.
Step one
Complete an International Student Application Form (PDF 86KB). You should include with your application the following documents:

Educational Certificates and academic records (originals or certified copies).

English language test results.

Evidence of employment history (if applying without academic records).

References from employers (if applying without academic records).

Copy of your passport details page.

Read the Refund & Transfer Agreement and Terms & Conditions of Study (PDF 48KB) and sign.
Step two
We will provide you with an Offer of Place. Before the expiry date you should:

Pay the tuition fees and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) as stated on your Offer of Place.

Send the required documentation to show that any conditions of the offer of place are met.
Please note: If you are from a country at Immigration Assessment Levels 3, 4, or 5, you will need to provide the Offer of Place to the nearest Australian Embassy or High Commission and apply for your Student Visa now. The Embassy will undertake a pre-visa assessment of your application. When this has been successful you should advise our Manager - International Business, before proceeding to the next stage.
Step three
We will then send you the following documents:

Receipt for payment of fees.

Copy of Confirmation of Enrolment (the Confirmation of Enrolment is sent electronically to the Australian Embassy/High Commission or Australian Immigration office closest to you).
Step four
Apply for your student visa. If you would like assistance with this, please contact our Manager - International Business. You will need to provide the following documents with your application for student visa:

Offer of Place.
-
Confirmation of Enrolment.
Refer to the Immigration website for a checklist of the requirements for lodging a student visa application.
Step five
If your visa has been issued, arrange your travel to Australia. Please advise the Manager - International Business of your arrival date to arrange appropriate meeting times and orientations.
Post payment
Once the fee deposit has been paid, Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE International will create an electronic "Confirmation of Enrolment" (CoE) which is emailed to the applicant and is electronically available to the Department of Immigration. This will enable the Department of Immigration to complete the Visa process. Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE International arranges the overseas student health cover medical insurance which is a Student Visa requirement. Health Insurance will be arranged for the length of your course studies while in Australia. If you have a dependent, health insurance cover can also be arranged for him / her.
Information regarding Student Visa 572 can be obtained from www.immi.gov.au.
You should allow at least 8 weeks for the Visa process if you are applying from overseas.
