Entry requirements
Enrolment is open to anyone over the age of 15, regardless of educ ational background. Some courses do have specific entry requirements which are listed with the course details.
Access to all classes is subject to:

sufficient enrolments in the class

pre-requisites and other entry requirements being met
-
enrolment fees being finalised at or prior to the time of enrolment
On acceptance into the course you must then complete the admissions process. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they have been enrolled into the correct modules/units and have completed all necessary pre-requisites. If necessary this should be verified with your teacher.
Full Time Diploma
Full time applications should be made through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC).

QTAC will notify you of the outcome of your application.
If you have missed the QTAC deadline you may apply directly to the Institute via the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE's application form. Please contact the relevant Customer Service Centres to confirm availability of places. Forms are available at all Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE Admissions Centres, or by downloading the Application Form (PDF 127KB)

Standard entry to part-time advanced diploma and diploma courses
Successful completion of year 12 in Queensland or its interstate or international equivalent or mature age entry is a requirement for standard entry to part-time advanced diploma and diploma courses.
Applications for these courses are made directly to the appropriate Admission Centre in December and June each year.
On acceptance into the course you must then complete the Admissions process.
Full time certificate level courses, other full time training programs and part time studies that require an application
A letter will be forwarded to you advising you of the outcome of your application. On acceptance into the course you must then complete the Admissions process.
Full time direct entry/part time/external/online studies that do not require an application
We offer several certificate courses through direct entry. Please contact the relevant Customer Service Centres for further information.
To enrol for Full time direct entry/part time/external/online studies you will need to complete a New Student Details form and an Enrolment Selection form which are available from our Customer Service Centres. Centres may also forward an enrolment pack by mail/fax on request.
Mature age entry
Where the applicants do not meet the standard entry requirements but their age and experience indicate a reasonable chance of success in a course, they may be offered a place.
