Qualification levels
Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE offers a wide range of nationally recognised qualifications, many of which are formally accredited within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF).
Diploma and Advanced Diploma

Are widely respected by employers, providing high-level, practical managerial employment skills;

May allow you to articulate or gain credit towards further study at university;

Can assist with upgrading skills or re-entry to the workforce at a more qualified level; and
-
Usually take the equivilent of 12 months to 2 years full time.
Certificates

Range from level I to IV;

Help develop skills in specific career fields, enhance your employment skills, or provide a stepping stone if you are seeking to re-enter the workforce or change your career path;

Provide articulation to the next level of qualification; and
-
Usually take the equivilent of 6 to 18 months full-time.
Statements of Attainment

Are awarded to students who successfully complete components of Certificates, Diplomas or Advanced Diplomas; and

Are awarded to students who successfully complete a nationally accredited course.
